    Minnie Ripperton Died unfortunately.

I was in a band that 'suported' Chesney Hawkes band Ebb in about 99-2000. It was only a scruffy old pub gig, but dear old chesney still thought he was the one and only!

                Vanilla Ice "Ice Ice Baby"
                Nena "99 Red Balloons" / "99 Luftballoons"

and of course Chesney Hawkes and the aptly named "One and Only"!
Soft Cell had several hits, namely, Bedsitter, Say Hello Wave Goodbye & Torch with a no 1 album in Non Stop Erotic Caberet in 1981.

Musical Youth had 2 follow up hits to Pass The Dutchie and although a hit in the 90's Vanilla Ice had a follow up hit called Play That Funky Music. Chessny Hawkes hit was in 1991

But for slightly more obscure (and more recent - late 70s-early-80s) one hit wonders I'll go for:

                  World of Water: New Musik
                  Lean On Me: Red Box
                  and
                  Lines: The Planets

If you can remember any of those - well done!

                  Wil
Red Box had a follow up hit to Lean on Me called "For Amercica" in 1986

                    Classic classic song!
