yeah, Rush had many haters in the early years and to some extent still do but as the music and songwriting matured the fanbase went off the scale and the rest is quite literally history as they are now defunct after an amazing 44 year run.

The first few albums Geddy lee (singer) was berated by the music press in particular Rolling stone magazine for his highly pitched voice and was the sole reason they struggled for recognition, then they released an album called 2112 and this was the turning point. They now enjoy high acclaim amongst industry pundits and fellow musicians for musicianship and songwriting and for being three really decent blokes who did things there way.
