It's a pity that they never had a Christmas number one - not a song about Christmas, but one which was at the top spot at Christmas time. I think that 1979 was the closest year that they had something like that in the charts.

I hate most Christmas songs

They did the best ever New Year song though ..

ABBA is another group that we have Eurovision to thank for.

Abba were fabulous. .. plus the guys themselves were unbelievable songwriters

SOS .... from very early on... is a very sad song ....
could be the Swedes have a very gloomy side to their nature living up there near
the Arctic Circle....

THEY kindof took the torch from the Beatles in the early 70s and produced brilliant album after
brilliant album.... just like the Beatles did in the 60s

There was a lot of sad songs with the break up and divorces still loved them though.
Winner takes it all a really moving song

abba music is very complicated as in the songs how they where put together i doubt many could do it.i can hardly believe it was regarded as such richard.
but then again it was kids who thought that so i dont really take there views seriously.

It's ironic that ABBA were regarded as throwaway pop at times.

I remember the term "Real Music" being used at the time Britpop started go astray in late 1997, mostly by Indiekids who couldn't understand why the music press was turning it's back on the scene.
