I'm on the mailing list for Manchesters Bridgewater hall, as a fairly regular patron i am updated monthly on upcoming concert tours but this mornings news is that unsurprisingly all performances scheduled for the coming months are either postponed or cancelled and that the venue is effectively closed until further notice.
I know that this should not come as a surprise but it made me think about the effect this virus is having on every aspect of what we do and where we go and is likely to do so for a while yet. Can you imagine the loss of revenue to such venues having to simply close your doors and of course the logistics of rescheduling hundreds of performances and events with hundreds of artists also refunding thousands of tickets. I have two shows coming up but later in the year so hopefully they will go ahead as planned.
