There was a song that was briefly popular in the long hot Summer of 1990 called 'Rainbow Child', which was played on Radio 1 a few times. Somehow I got the idea that it was done by The Damned, but despite Googling extensively I can't find any connection with them and the song. Opening lyrics were:
'Say hello to the Rainbow Child,
She doesn't talk much, just sits there and smiles,
She has a heavy heart that beats to the rhythm of a different song..."
Chorus lyrics included:
"she's like the wind and the rain,
And the flowers and the pain,
She is everything..."

Can anyone help me? Would love to try and get a copy on eBay!!
