Does anybody want to add their favourite obscure band or song to this thread? I know a lot of people will have heard of the band or heard the actual song,but most people probably have not.I thought this thread would give people a chance to post youtube clips,showing the band and giving them a chance to hear the songs.Anything from the 60's.70's.80's,or whatever genre you want,even the 1920's if you wish.

Nice to see some B-Movie enthusiasts on here.

Anyone here have the "futurist" version of "Nowhere Girl" - more synthy than guitary - it was released on the Some Bizarre label and had "Scare Some Life Into Me" on the B-side? This was by far my favourite version of it. I used to dance to it at a club called Catacomb in my student days. The sleeve had a black and white photo of a woman with her arm raised up. Recently I found and downloaded an "anthem" version by Koshi and Hush on i-Tunes, sounds VERY similar to the electronic B-Movie version, and they use the same photo for the artwork.

I had a penpal in the 80's - we met through the penpal page in Smash Hits and bonded over a shared love of Gary Numan at the time. We used to send tapes to each other of stuff we liked and wanted to share, and he had the 12 inch version of the "synth" Nowhere Girl - had a longer intro with a girl laughing manically for a couple of minutes before the piano kicked in. I still have my 7" disc, and have hunted for YEARS for the 12". Once I thought I'd found it, but alas it turned out to be the same version as you get on "Remembrance Day".

Would love to track down that 12 " version -it's the only one missing from my i-Pod. Reminds me of long-lost gothy friend I used to dance with, but most of all makes me think of my old penpal, whom I went on to meet and become good friends with when I moved to London years ago before losing touch - I recently discovered he died 2 years ago, which saddens me greatly. He was a big influence in my life, and during my teen years I used to hover perpetually over the letter box waiting for his letters.

OH MY GOD!!!!

I followed one of the links above and FOUND IT!!!! It's on YouTube, it's the 1982 "maxi" version. I'm in tears right now, just listened to it. Absolutely amazing.

Have bookmarked it to my laptop, now I just have to figure out how to get it onto my i-Pod. ( I'm a bit of a techno dinosaur, I only know how to load on stuff I've downloaded from i-Tunes or transferred onto my 'puter from CD. Anyone able to help? For obvious reasons I won't be asking Apple's technical support team!)
