    Can someone please tell me what the counters are in Monopoly.
    Not the newest version though.

            I remember two versions, back in the 70's..the small plain lead ones and better larger painted metal ones..I always had to have the tank or train
            hated the Blue Peter style ship

              The first Monopoly set I played with was circa 1950s.The tokens were actually card mounted on wooden stands.The move to metal pieces was later but may have been a regression to the 1930s original set.The older sets were marked by a strange winking little man on the box holding money,i think he was phased out in the 70s.

                I believe the wooden blocks with cardboard inserts were wartime pieces due to restrictions on metal.
