    Sinclair Spectrum 48K issue 2
    Commodore 64
    Atari 520STFM
    Mac Color Classic

The older ZX81 and the Speccy are still in regular use, with modern SD card adaptors in place of cassette loading. The C64 was last fired up August 2018 for a fun bank holiday with friends...every single floppy disc still worked. The ST hasn't been run in around 20 years, the Mac a decade.
    Nice!

I would love a C64 again but am too put off by the power supply / recap requirements. When that new "The C64" comes out i'll get one of those instead, then I can pretend I have a proper one and use it on my modern TV with minimal fuss.

I’ve recently dusted off our N64 and played a couple of Star Wars games ..

I still have a Mega Drive and a few games, i don't play it now but i had many hours of fun with it.
Does anyone remember the Master System? My friend has one that she's keeping for when her son is old enough to play it, it has a few built-in games which is a good start. ☺

I have an Atari with various game cartridges from the early '80s. I wonder if it'd still work? I'd have to figure out how to attach it to a modern flat screen television though. I used to love some of the games for it; Adventure, Haunted House, Casino, Yar's Revenge, Dolphin, Asteroids, Frost Bite, Pit Fall...

In recent years, retro gaming has ceased to be the preserve of a handful of classic game enthusiasts. Nintendo released the NES Mini and SNES Mini, Microsoft added compatibility with the original Xbox games to the Xbox One, Sony entered the market with the PlayStation Classic (albeit a highly controversial one) and Sega is working on the Mega Drive Mini. All mini consoles are great out-of-the-box solutions that require no extra investment or exploration of auctions. Bought, plugged in and you can play your favourite childhood classics in peace.

However, collectors who prefer not emulators but the original hardware have not yet disappeared. Such people buy dusty cartridges every month and have forgotten how to play free slot machine games online and are willing to pay substantial sums to fill the gaps in their collection.

In the last year and a half I've had six consoles in my house, and the total number of games has passed the two hundred mark.
