regarding jsw 2 i so often forget and misjudge how far you can fall and of course lose a life.
never ever got close to getting all the items.

in fact i never got to more than about 20 rooms.

you could even enter a code on the white screen for infinite lives but if you got caught in the right way you kept dying but yet you could never get past them.
        only option turn it off.

The speccy years were some of my favourite gaming years. I loved Skool Daze, Back 2 Skool and Chuckie Egg, amongst others. In fact Chuckie Egg is still just as much fun nowadays.

Anyone remember Go To Hell or Soft & Cuddly ?
              They were gory platform games.

The box art for Soft & Cuddly is too bloody for me to post here !

Like everybody else, I have regrets in life, but one of the top ones up there has to be me selling my Spectrum 128k with built in cassette deck, and about 200 game tapes.

Remember the fantastic music for the Batman game (based on the Tim Burton '89 film)?

Remember the beautiful, ethereal music for Tetris?

The 'Dizzy' games by codemasters, with a cute adventurous little egg in boxing gloves?

The loading times of the tape, with the modem sound droning through the speakers, as the title screen would slowly inch by inch appear on the tv screen?

                Ah, the memories!

                  Re: specturm

I had a 48+, 128K and then the +3 with the 3" disk drive. Probably the most fun I've had gaming. Subsequent Amiga and PC never quite captured that sense of fun. Some of those 128K Speccy games were surprisingly complex. Amongst those I never managed to complete (but spent weeks trying) were Valhalla, Tau Ceti, Tir Na Nog and Dun Darach. Which, if any, Spectrum games defeated you?

                    Re: specturm

there are places you can buy these consoles and games if you wanted them back again.

is the batman game the one by ocean.
there was a stage stage 3 where you to cut the balloons.

ive bought loads of games for the speccy as well as a speccy itself.

                      Well, for starters...........

                      Manic Miner.

Managed to get most of the way but never completed it.
I still play it occasionally, but it's still not happening.

for me it was jsw 2.
near impossible getting all the items in one life.

                        also the untouchables.
