Do you remember this game?

It was prob. late 80's or early 90's...

It was a graphic adventure game that had rudimentary graphic, and a command prompt at the bottom to open doors/pick up item/etc.. I don't remember if it was windows based or DOS based...but it wasn't Apple.

I remember a bridge you had to go over without getting matches wet, and a maze made out of hedges, and a riddle that had "bilbo" as the answer...

any clues??

Not Shadowgate...this game was even more rudimentary...so no options to choose from on the bottom...all user written commands...and no side bar either. Along the fashion of the really really old "Mystery House" but with more advanced graphics.

Bilbo ??? My guess is The Hobbit - an adventure game made for all the Computers of the time (1982) ZX Spectrum, the Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC 464
etc.

my first thought was the Hobbit, didn't realise it went back that far though, so I ruled it out Blimey where have the years gone?

I was thinking something to do with LOTR. The Hobbit sounds like it might be the one though.
