old children's cassettes

Hi eyeryone x

I'm looking for anyone who remembers some old childrens cassettes I am desperately trying to get hold of.

They came in a boxset, about a4 in height. There were eight tapes inside, one head cleaner with the words "pot of gold" and a picture and then a tape for each day of the week. The outside cover was white with a picture of a rainbow.

Each tape began with the same song changing for each day of the week "Open your eyes, be wide awake, sit up and listen to Monday's tape". All contained childrens stories, songs and poems and would have been around between the late 70's and early 80's.

Can anyone help with any further details that may help me track them down?

i have just typed it out.
The Owl and the Pussycat went to sea

Why the**** ? It's not offensive to use the word '*****' in a children's poem! Especially when it's in relation to the pussycat in the title! The world is going mad!

I remember my son having a set - I think they were songs from the rainbow tv series.

It wasn't the owl and the pussycat poem, it was a story about Pussycat Mince, i cant even remember the plot.. but i think a piano was in there? lol! Yes it was one of the stories on this cassette series.

I've been looking on and off for these cassettes too... a google search for 'sit up and listen to Mondays tape' brought me here

It's the swear filter Stuck, it doesn't know what context a word is being used in, it's not as clever as us

is there anything you can do to allow that word ***** mate.
Do something to the site to allow that word.

anyway that word would or any other word would not be used in the wrong way on here.

you can always just 'accent' it, that works on most forums... pússy cat

People would have to know to accent it, think the best we can do is Herr or I will edit the word with an accent as and when we read the posts

I do remember pussycat mince!!! I cant believe so many people remember these tapes but it seems so difficult to find them. Do you remember Zebbidy Zink and I'm a little bumper car? :0) x

I'm a little bumper car definitely rings a bell... not sure on Zebbidy Zink? But, i used to listen to them constantly, so it'll be in my memory banks somewhere! x

I am so hoping someone comes up with something positive on here... i need those tapes now!! :P
