  • 80's toy car - looking for a name

Reading the 'truck with lots of wheels' thread reminded me of a toy car I had which I'd like to know the name/range of.

It basically looked like one of those big American trucks with the over-sized tyres that they always have going over 'normal' cars at shows etc. It was battery operated and its main selling point was that it rolled over and went the other way if it hit a wall. Mine was blue and I don't think it made any noises but I think it had lights that flashed blue and red. I probably got it around 1985/86.

Mine was similar but a bit more glitzy looking and didn't have a key nor the levers on top. I don't know if it was a later model? I wish I could remember the name of it it's driving me nuts!

Monster Stomper no.17, think you'll find a few under 'monster trucks' on ebay

Blimey I didn't realise there were so many different types! They must have been the in thing at the time. We're getting warmer but were not quite there. If we can nail the flip over thing then we will have it. I'm pretty sure the adverts emphasised this particular feature and it had the desired effect on my impressionable mind!

Thanks for the help so far! Not a tyco rebound, deffo 80's and definitely like the bigfoot and monster stomper in its dimensions. I'll keep hunting!
