I have been searching every corner of the internet to try and prove to myself that this toy existed!
My mum picked it up from a jumble sale in the mid 80s but it could well be a 70s toy. I loved it and had never seen anything like it before. It was a plastic fortune tellers crystal ball, dark blue with a silver glitter in it and a small red plastic window at the top which you could see through when the light inside was turned on. If I remember, the light was activated by a magnet inside a big 'ruby' ring that came with the toy. You would take a pack of special playing cards that were included with the set and insert it into the base of the ball. When the light came on it would illuminate the card in such a way that you would see a picture, 'the fortune' through the window in a way you couldn't when the card was not in the ball. It also came with a gypsy scarf and some clip on hoop earrings.
I think it was ditched out at some point when I left home and I've never seen one since. I had hours of fun with it and would love to find one to give to my daughter.
Does anyone remember these???
