Below is a pic of Cloughie, (seen elsewhere on this site in fashion) - but his son looks to be holding a WEMBLEY TROPHY ball - I remember these were the balls we grew up playing with ! the first ones had a rough pimple'y rubbery/ plastic type outer, and were replaced by a much nastier plain rubber/ plastic.
The pimple'y ones used to really hurt, if you were in goal or headed it wrongly, until the pimples had worn down a bit by playing on the street surface.
The many balls we got through growing up when they were either burst (from playing on the road, hitting a bit of pebbledashing on a house wall at an unfortunate angle, gnawed by one of the local dogs who used to roam the streets back in the day, or by a neighbour destroying it by "...put a knife through it if it comes over my wall again"
The BEST days were when you had enough pocket money to go to the toy/sweet shop to buy a new Wembley trophy, and walking away with the ball in its square cardboard box, with the little black blow up adapter nestled in the cardboard, very 'professional' footballer
Any pics in a box pleeease !!!!
