The Mego site is great, every time I go there I see things I didn't notice last time! Like the Fighting Furies pirate dudes from the 70s, I had those and my brother had Steve Goalgetter!!
I'd forgotten all about him! He had the England kit for him too.
Apart from obviously being a footballer he had bendy legs with a rubbery skin over them and you could pull one of his feet back and it would spring forward thus kicking the ball. An Action Man for football fans I guess.
You'll hate me Neil, I still have the Centurion and Muffet figures. Also the Maximillian one, V.I.N. CENT (both come with clear stands so they do stand up) and the two blokes in white from the Black Hole. Not forgetting a couple of Micronauts, including Time Traveller. They're in a box somewhere with a few Action Force ones too.
I had that helicopter. You had to keep pushing a button in on the side to keep the rotors spinning.
I guess, for longevity, Action Man has to be my favourite toy and I'm still a little sad I didn't keep just one to (like Mr.Benn) help me remember. I do have a Special Operations Kit on my desk at work, though, just in case of emergencies.
