Most favourite would be my collection of Corgi and Dinky cars. I used to save my pocket money until I had £3, and then beg my mum to take me to the local toy shop. For birthdays I'd have a bit more money so could venture into the section where the bigger sets (lorries and film-TV tie in sets) were displayed. For the most part though, I remained loyal to buying car models.
Our local shop had such a huge selection of diecast models and I'd spend ages deciding which one to get. Plus I had a great garage (Toy Works 3-tier as shown in the Argos catalogue pages in another forum). That garage and cars accounted for most of my playtime between the age of 5 to 8. Still have the Corgi / Dinky models and display them with pride at home. Waiting for the garage to come up on eBay ...
Also had Little Big Man - a smaller version of Action Man. Never a match for my brothers Action Man though.
Six Million Dollar Man & Command Module. Also had the Crystal Radio set which was my introduction to radio + all the programmes that it offered. MB Big Trak + Trailer - sold mine on eBay a few years ago, sadly.
Matchbox Power Track - small scale slot racing set with the added excitement of working lights on the cars. But here's the thing .. to get the best out of the car lights I used to setup the track so it went under the table + chairs in the lounge, and that was great until a car came off the track and I'd have to crawl over the track and under the table to put the car back on the track again .. did love my Power Track set.
Evil Knievel Super Cycle - heavier than the Stunt Cycle and it had 'flames' that came from the 2 rockets. Loved setting up jumps using books and bits of wood.
I'm a Director on a current CBeebies TV Show - Grandpa in My Pocket. We need examples from the past of where Live Action TV or Film was made into Toys. So far I've got the original Batman, Star Wars and the current Lazytown. Any other ideas?
When I was a kid my favorite toy is my first RC car that is only a gift for me. Until now my favorite toy is RC car I enjoy when I played my RC car in the field.
