Marbles and milk bottle tops

Many years ago and I mean many years ago, my friends and I would take foil milk bottle tops and form them over marbles shaping it so half the marble was exposed underneath and tapering the overlapping foil into a tail to keep it stable. Then we would race them down a sloping board. Did anyone else waste hours and hours making these fantastic objects.

We had marbles but never did anything like that with them. My brother would roll them on dinky car plastic tracks though. We had cardboard disks in the foil on the glass bottles and I've heard that some places kids collected them up for a tiddlywinks or pogs game, but we never did that either. I only remember they said the name of the dairy on them and they'd just be tossed out while the bottles were returned for reuse.
