Re: Helicopter Toy proper name?
Back in the 70s I had a red and white one - that didn't have the girly safety ring circling the ends of the blades - just heavy plastic weights on the tips. Despite plaintive cries from my Father to always hold it above my head when launching...
I still have the cracked tooth in a Marmite jar to prove my folly.Their light of pocket torch, of signal flare,
Licks at the edge of unsuspected places,
While others scan, under an arc-lamp's glare,
Nursery, kitchen sink, or their own faces.

unfortunately, on the 4th or 5th flight of first use it decided to crash headfirst into the ground (was a little bit windy as I remember)
and because it didn't have the girly ring thing, one of the blades snapped off  My Dad tried umpteen different types of glue to try and repair to no avil, dont think super glue was around then, a week later it was placed in the Bin  was really sick about that, the thing would fly for milesDON'T TELL HIM YOUR NAME PIKE!!
