Hello guys!
This is my first time posting here and the reason I stumbled upon your forum is I was searching the internet for a toy I had when I was but a young lad and had no joy in finding it. I think this was a pretty obscure toy so this may be a long shot but ....
I don't know what it was called or who made it, but basically it was a vehicle for little action figures (Lego sized I think) that was in the form of a giant fly/insecty thing.
It had a black plastic body, six "legs" at the end of which were red cone shaped "feet". It had a pair of see-through purple coloured "glassy" wings that I believe you could make flap by pressinga button or pulling a trigger.
The "head" of the fly was the cockpit for this vehicle and could be detached from the body. Again, it was black, but had a liftable canopy that was the same material as the wings, purple in colour. There were two little seats inside this for the figures to sit in. This head had two red pincers at the front which could be opened and closed by a switch.
This was a bloody cool toy and I loved it. I remember at one point something happened to the body of it but I still had the head piece on its own for a long time afterwards. It vanished over the years and I only remembered it recently.
I imagine it would have been from very early 80s, 81 or 82 maybe.
