I had a horror money box in a similar vein(!) but it was a rectangular box in which you pressed your coin onto a small button and a boney white skeletal arm would come out and drag the coin down rather than holding it between fingers.
Anyone seen one of those?

Just come across this little lot on line, they were actioned off in 2008 with an estimate of £100-£140
