I mucked around with one of those tubes a few years back in my local The Entertainer.....they still make those tubey things!

I used to have one of them tubes, the plastic one.
As for the zube tube, my old school had one in the musical instruments trolley.

When i was at uni we did science with kids at roadshows - one of the things we made were like the zube tube - we called them echo tubes. All you needed was a long spring, a cardboard tube and two plastic cups (like out of a drinks machine).you had a cup in each end of the tube with the spring stretched between the 2 cups. The kids loved them.
