I was given this one Christmas when I was a kid. It was a rigid, seethrough, plastic ball, about the size of a football and inside were 8 cups glued to the inner surface of the ball. There was also a small round ball inside. The cups were numbered 1-8 and cup one had a side cut out so that you can roll the loose ball into it. The aim was to get the ball from one cup to the next until you reach number 8. If you were lucky enough to do that you could then work backwards to number 1 (trickier than you might think).
I killed my baffle ball by pushing my bed leg against it and it cracked ('twas an accident). It had such a distinctive sound.
I remember about 10 years ago my parents ringing me and asking what I thought "this" was and there was a loud rattling noise! I instantly knew it was a baffle ball and they told me that it had been re-released but this ones clear plastic ball was smaller and the cups stuck through the plastic rather than being entirely inside.
