  • Scotch video tapes ad

    Remember these ads from the 80's? I think they were to the tune of Buddy Holly's song 'Not Fade Away'.

    I'm gonna tell you how it's going to be
    With Scotch's lifetime guarantee
    Tape what you want both night and day
    Rerecord not fade away, rerecord not fade away.....

    Or something along those lines, then I think the ad just faded away

    Is that the same one that had the skeleton in the advert.I thought that one was pretty cool at the time.

                  i remember that ad it was a good one.speaking of tape ads,im sure i remember one for maxwell tapes (not sure if video or audio) im positive it was a man sitting in a chair in a dark windy room.im thinking it was the bloke from bauhaus in it it also had some great music in it.can anybody remember this or am i totally deluded??

                    Nope you are not deluded Trinity because if I recall it right the music was Night on a Bare Mountain by Mussorgsky that was playing in the ad. One of my fave pieces of classical music

                      Yes it was Peter Murphy who was the lead singer in Bauhaus.

                      Scotch tapes were true to their word with the guarantee. I returned one or two becuase the snapped & I did get free replacements.
