Hello everybody... I am new to this awesome forum .. and this is my first post - so hopefully someone can help me out.

I always enjoyed the Pepsi ads of the 70s and 80s with the catchy slogan Lipsmackin'thirstquenchin'acetastin'motivatin'good buzzincooltalkinhighwalkinfastlivinevergivincoolfi zzin - Pepsi.

I memorised it as a party piece from a beer mat ! How sad ...eh

Can anyone remember the ad... where a cocky cockney guy chats up a sexy girl in a lift - she is drinking a can of Pepsi?

The guy says to the girl " hello darlin' .. this could be your lucky day. Just answer a simple question and you could be takin' me out tonite. What begins with P ends in I ... and you're drinkin' it ? "


Girl replies sarcasticaly " an elephant " .


Guy comes back - quick as a flash with " that'll do - where are you takin' me ? "

Lipsmackin etc etc.

So funny - but no one seems to remember it .

I have checked out Youtube and other websites but had no luck in tracking down the commercial.
Can anyone post me a link to the ad ... if they have one ?


Also... can anyone actually remember the ad ?

It was one of those that came on in the cinema a lot at the time..........

Yep ! Worked first time - you need Quicktime on your computer

It's not the one Arch was looking for though - it was the foreign girl one - but the usual Lipsmackin' bit did end it !!

There was another one c.mid-70s wheer a Fonz-type character sang " You can tell from what I'm drinkin' that I'm really kinda cool, oh yeah".
Never noticed that much difference between Pepsi and Coke - 7up ( Pepsi's sister ) is way ahead of Sprite ( Coke's ) tho...

I remember that ad Aidanagain. Wasn't the guy that wore the leather jacket and sang the song the lead singer with a 70s rock n roll ( 50s tribute ) band ?

A bit like Showaddy-waddy ?

Seem to remember him singing on Top Of The Pops.

None of those drinks is half as good as Irn Bru - or BEER .

I remember the "this could be your lucky day" ad. I could even do an impression of his voice right now. Fun little memory.
