I think they were among the first films my Dad ever brought home from the video shop in Marlow Road when we got our first VCR, too! Must be a generational thing...

The films are rather less racy than the books and leave out quite a bit of the plots, though I suspect that's mainly to get them edited down to about 90 minutes.

really that shocks me,they are pretty riskay and racy as they are mate.

i wonder just how long the films would have been if each book in its entirety had been made into films.

            Re: Confessions Fims

The films were just titilation - soft porn in my view, like a more adult version of the Carry On's. As a hormonally charged lad I did like them, on video and remember Channel 5 used to boradcast them late at night in their earlier days as a new channel... but their downfall really lay in the rise of hardcore porn coming into the UK and being more readily available, why go for soft camp rubbish when the naughty viewer could have 'the real thing' so to speak - I also feel that Robin Asquith, even though he himself admitted as an out of work jobbing actor needed the cash hence doing them, really ruined his career as an actor - he was in Lindsay Anderson's 'If' amongst other things prior to the 'Confessions' films and after them he was severely typecast...

However, some of the women in the films were extremely delectable...especially the WPC from the very first one, she was also in the Holiday Park one as well...phoawrrrr!

'Confessions from A Holiday Camp' was always my favourite
