My favourite Bond intro. As this was right after the Falklands it seems as if the fictitious Latin American country was a mashup of Cuba and Argentina. The air base is the former RAF Upper Heyford.
Agreed, i think that following on from Connery must of been the toughest gig in cinema and that many people diden't like Lazenby simply because he wasn't connery

Reviewers talked about a wooden performance and lack of chemistry between him and Diana Rigg, but I disagree with both!

Fact is that the only acting Lazenby had done prior to Bond was an advertisement for chocolate (i think it was Frys chocolate cream?) he blagged his way into a screen test with Broccolli and Saltzman and somehow got the gig. Although the chemistry ON screen seemed fine the pair famously disliked working together with Rigg eating garlic before the snogging scenes
I would think that any favourite Bond films of mine would be any with Connery or Moore in the title role.
I've everything I need to keep me satisfied
There's nothing you can do to make me change my mind
I'm having so much fun
My lucky number's one
Ah! Oh! Ah! Oh!
I wondered whether Octopussy was a controversial name for a Bond film when it was released?
(Think of Mrs Slocombe in AYBS).
