    Smokey & the Bandit

    Burt Reynolds & Sally Field starred in Smokey & the Bandit about a bet that Burt & Otis couldn't ship bootleg liquor over the state line to it's destination in a certain time

    They were chased by an idiot sheriff and his equally idiot who was supposed to marry Frog (Sally Field). The Bandit picks up Frog and she joins in on the chase

    Do you really believe the other side without provocation would launch so many ICBM's, subs and ships knowing that we would have no option to launch as well? It would break our MAD Treaty (Mutually Assured Destruction) not to mention the end of the world as we know it.

    It's great fun to watch.

    The the USA the sales of Black Trans-Ams were so high they had to be put on a waiting list. CB radios also became a must have gadget for a few years.

              There were a number of "Smokey and..." films and others which cashed in on its success. Perhaps The Dukes of Hazard owed its existence to it. And since I've mentioned Dukes of Hazard, I must mention Daisy Duke's legs...sorry, but it's the law and you have to do it...
