    Re: Scariest movies

Does anyone remember "The Norliss Tapes" I saw this in the 70's when I was a kid and it scared the life out of me - I was having nightmares for weeks after. I never saw it again and I wonder if I saw it now if I would actually laugh all the way through it ...

That crate scene from creepshow scared me to death as well. It reminded me of Snowbeast - a bit.

                Re: Scariest movies

yeh The Grudge films are fantastic.

also The Thing (1980's original version)

and (oldie but goodie) Quatermass & The Pit

Not for the films as such, but I was always freaked out as a kid by the opening titles to 'Appointment with Fear'....Fri nights ITV IIRC?? The changing monster faces plus the music

also, can't remember name of film...man acquires tiny African warrior figure...necklace comes off it & it awakens. It then hunts him around his apartment? Someone pls tell me what its called?!?!!

                      Re: Scariest movies

Daz maybe you could help me with one also if you don't mind. There was an English horror movie I think form the early 70,s (a hammer?) it was a series of short stories - like ASSYLUM, one of the stoires featured Joan Collins who was attacked and killed by a tree, and another story that I remember was called "Uncle Arthur" and was about strange things that happened when the owner of a memrobeilia shop rode on a penny farthing. I have seen many Hammer films etc repeated over and over but never this one ... Any ideas Daz ...
