i don't think there has been too many to add into the 90s, but here goes for each decade!

1970s - Towering Inferno -a n all time classic as is anything with Steve McQueen in.

1980s - Clockwise. Put simply the British Legend John Cleese (one of my all time favourite evera ctors), who I rate even better than I rate David Jason, made this film his own.

1990s - Titanic, but if I could push Erin Brockovich back a year or 2 into the 90s (though hang .... was it 1999) I think it was now yeah, i'll pick Erin Brovkovich and the great talent that is Julia Roberts as my favourite 90s film!

The '70s: The Sting (1973), The Front Page (1974), Car Wash (1975), Taxi Driver (1977), Apocalypse Now (1979), Used Cars (1979)
The '80s: 1941* (1980), Zelig (1983), Sex Mission (1984)**, Back to the Future (1985), Eight Men Out (1988)
The '90s: Forrest Gump (1994)

*1941 has the dubious distinction of being one of Steven Spielberg's few flops.

** Sex Mission is a Polish sci-fi comedy which (at least to me) borrowed very heavily from THX-1138 and Woody Allen's Sleeper. Despite its racy-sounding title the film is quite mild. In the film two scientists are put in suspended animation and wake up in a futuristic society ruled by women who live in a vast underground city (males by this time had become extinct). Their leader is simply known as Her Excellency. Spoiler alert but at the end Her Excellency turns out to be a man who was the last surviving male until the arrival of our heroes. The ultimate irony of the film is that this über feminist society was in actuality ruled by a man who literally kept them down (in the film they're led to believe that the surface was uninhabitable). What also makes the film interesting is that it was also a satire of the ruling Communist government at the time.

I also seem to recall a film from the '80s which I think was called The Firm which starred Gary Oldman as the leader of a gang of football hooligans.
