Definately The Wizard of Oz. Christmas night, Turkey sandwiches, playing with all my toys and its dark outside. Wizard of Oz on the telly in the background with all the adult laughter and singing, drinking babycham and snowballs.

For Real Christmas movies, the Muppet Christmas Carol tops it out, with Michael Caine playing it wonderfully straight.
With Polar Express doing well for not being too sweet, and having superb animation.

For the Traditional War Films at Christmas one must add The Heros of Telemark, starring Kirk Douglas's chin.
It edges out Von Ryan's Express, the Bridge at Remagen and The Longest Day.

My favorite film is HOME ALONE

Same here. I've got Home Alone 1 / 2 / 3 on DVD in a 3-DVD set that I bought Xmas 2004 I think. Since then I've seen Home Alone and Home Alone 2 every Xmas on DVD. I like Home Alone and Home Alone 2, but am not that keen on Home Alone 3. Some Xmases I've not bothered seeing Home Alone 3.

I loved Scrooged but have only watched it in my adult years.

The snowman brings back the biggest memories for me, makes me all tingly inside! Also love Santa Claus the movie as it's a typical 80s kids film.

Add another vote for the Muppets Christmas Carol, I remember going to see it when it was released and must have watched it so many times since. Michael Caine is brilliant as always and the muppet characters are cast to perfection, Statler & Waldorf as the Marley Brothers being the prime example. I had a quick look through this year's Christmas Radio Times and I'm glad to see its getting another showing at some point this year, just hope I'm not in work when it's on!

Ikiru (1952), a Japanese movie by Akira Kurosawa.

Part of the film is set over the Xmas period with a few festive scenes but the final scene with Takashi Shimura sat alone on the child's swing with the snow falling all around him is very emotional and very uplifting.

It has a sentiment which is shared with another Xmas classic, It's A Wonderful Life but I would recommend this one if you don't mind the subtitles (and why would you!). Be warned, have your hankies ready as you'd have to be a robot not to at least snivel at this terrific movie.

How could I have forgotten - The Sound Of Music. Christopher Plummer was never more dashing. Sigh.
