Re: what tv programme did you watch on xmas morning when you were a child ?
|My fondest memories of Christmas Day telly in the 1970's was watching the old black and white clips of the silent comedians, Chaplin, Lloyd, Laurel and Hardy and my favourite, Keaton. These were produced by Robert Youngson and lasted about 90 minutes or so. They were usually on early around 09.00.
Why do TV companies refuse to show these geniuses of comedy today? It would show most of todays so called comedians what comedy is all about, simple plots, perfect timing

certainly in our house xmas day and especially the morning was seen as a time for the family, the wireless might be on in the background with a carol service on, but the TV wouldnt be touched until later in the afternoon.
