I bet nearly everybody here can remember this iconic piece of children's educational TV from the 70's.

I was very small when I saw this. Too small to understand what the programme was and what it was all about but I was entranced by those fabulous shoes. I mean you've got to admit, they are amazing . It wasn't until a couple of years ago that I came across the clip by chance and OMG! I thought I'd imagined the whole thing but there they were! Blockaboots!

I Remember seeing this at one time.

There was another with confectionary speakeasy owner Samuel Sweetooth "only monkey's eat bananas!'", & a good hygeine advisor whose arch enemy was called Dirty Gertie.

I think you are all missing the point of the program. it was about looking after your feet and to NOT buy things like Blockaboots. but at the time i wanted a pair too - why would i care if i couldnt walk when i was in my 40s

Ha ha I know it was meant to demonstrate bad footwear but hobbling along on crumpled stumps is a small price to pay for the joy of owning blockaboots, as any stiletto-owning woman would agree

My wife and I quite often mention Blockaboots, in fact if somebody is wearing high shoes my wife usually refers to them as Blockaboots.
