  • Kids Tennis Drama

Hi, does anyone remember the name of a kids tv drama about a junior tennis champ set in Britain. I think it was on BBC1 around 1983, 84 or 85. Not sure but think it only had 1 series. No one i know seems to remember it. Didn't really think much of the show but i remember being jealous of the lead character who had all the best branded sports gear (highly fashionable at the time). Have googled and searched t'net many times but cannot come up with a name. V grateful for any assistance.

I also remember this show - the bloke who played the main character's Dad played Ken Masters in Howard's Way if you remember that/him. Also the main kid in this show (the tennis star) played Tamzin Outhwaite's brother in Eastenders he was a vicar.

I am full of useless information !!

I remember watching it, but the only thing I remember about it now is the boy breaking his tennis racket (in a John McEnroe-style fit of anger) at the end of one episode.
"We're the Sweeney son, and we haven't had any dinner!"

I remember that as well - just emailed 2Entertain about it - and they're not planning on a DVD release. Idiots. They are sitting on some FANTASTIC drama... just because it was kids material. Just rewatched Codename Icarus on Youtube - and I could see why I remembered it - that stuff was brilliantly written...

**** like 2 Pints of Lager gets immediate releases... but there was *so much good stuff* back in the 70s and 80s that never gets re-aired...
