Re: best tv programme intros.
I remember that show well. Robert Guillaume is also known for his work on Broadway most notably Phantom of the Opera. He replaced Michael Crawford on its national tour of the US.Originally posted by darren View Post

Re: Fave tv theme tunes.
It's good to see how shows are pitched in other countries. Love the way PBS were really bigging up the olde, upper crust British theme with their Masterpiece Theatre intro.Originally posted by victorbrunswick View PostWhenever British TV shows such as "Upstairs, Downstairs" were aired in the US it was often transmitted by PBS (Public Broadcasting System) under the name "Masterpiece Theatre." Here's the "Masterpiece Theatre" theme. On a side note, I wish my study looked like that! ]

Re: Fave tv theme tunes.
I've got a soft spot for the Open All Hours theme. I think it's the brass, it calls out to the Yorkshireman in me.

Mr Belvedere
(1985-90)
vocal by Leon Redbone
Also includes a 1989 advert for Jif peanut butter.
Streaks on the china
Never mattered before
Who cared
When you dropkicked your jacket
As you came through the door?
No one glared
But sometimes
Things get turned around
And no one's spared
All hands, look out below
There's a change in the status quo
Gonna need all the help
That we can get
According to our new arrival
Life is more than mere survival
We just might live the good life yet

I also like the Only Fools and Horses Theme Tune as I do Bread and Last Of The Summer Wine and Whatever Happend To The Likley Lads?, as one's that I instantly think of. The Prisoner Cell Block H Theme was sang excellent too I think, in-fact it should of been brought out as a single i'd even say. I think I once had it sung by an Australian Singer on Tape - what happend and where it went to, i'm annoyed by to this day! A great song indeed!
