Funny thing about this was that everyone thought that it was a genuine wartime song from the 40's. In reality it was specially written for the show and sung by Bud Flanagan in 1968 when Dad's Army started. It just sounds so authentic.

fantastic tunes mate.
seventies eighties and nineties is littered with them.
