  • 70-80s mystery tv show with a severed finger in opening credits

I grew up in the U.S. and I swear I remember a British murder, mystery, horror anthology type TV series from the late 70s or early 80s. It came on very late here in the U.S. *It wasn't Hammer, it wasn't Thriller or Night Gallery, but it was similar. *The only clear memory I have is that during the opening credits it had a bloody severed finger on a table. I'll try to remember more details, but for the time being does any have a clue what this show was?

Might it have been "Tales of the Unexpected"? I do remember one episode of this series involving fingers being severed so it is conceivable that a shot from that episode was in the opening credits.

I've just been trying to find the opening credits for that GreenKnight, I think the episode was The Man from the South

I seem to remember that one was a gruesome story about a man who was offering a luxury car in return for a severed finger.
