Ok, this one I saw in the 80s in the UK - although I THINK it was either australian or new zealand...
It was a fantasy drama about two siblings - brother & sister - who had this sacred stone that they had to protect - with the help of a dodgy old man who may have been there uncle.
These creepy as hell men where after them - they had men-in-back type suits on, but where made of green slime (the actors where dripping in it, as if melting).
One stand out episode I remember was the kids was trapped in a cellar as the slime men broke in, & the kid had to keep holding the stone & not drop it - but the stone was glowing red hot but he had to hold it for some reason...
