there where 1,517 episodes including 3 specials.

most episodes where 30 minutes mins long
there was 1 45 min Hogmanay special and 2 60 min Millennium special.

it was set in the fictional village of glendarroch.

Used to love take the high road, when I was a kid in the early 80's, if memory serves me right it reminded me of Emmerdale Farm before it became just Emmerdale

My papa worked with STV and when I was 18 months old they wanted a new female child, and I auditioned but I couldn't do the audition, I was meant to go up to another woman and call her mum, but I kept going back to my own.

I never knew Take The High Road ran until 2003. I can not recall it being on in later year's, this is great. From the times I watched it - it was great, that'd be years since though (i the mid 90s I guess). Was one of the best known characters called Morag or am I imagining this!?

I never knew until i've just read it that Take The High Road ran for 23 years, this is brilliant information to know of and about. I will always be TTHR from being very young in the 1980s, before I began even at Nursery School. It is a memory that will always stay as similar to a "sountrack of your childhood" in TV terms. I often thought it was a great well wrote show indeed, that I began to appreciate more and more as the years went by without a doubt.

My Mum used to watch it in the afternoons...she also used to do a very bad Scots accent singing 'TAKE THE HIGH ROAD, TAKE THE HIGH ROAD...' to the theme on the show intro...and I also remember Morag too...wasn't she a bit of a gossip and a moody so and so?

I have a vivid memory of one episode where there was a covered dead body on a bed for the most part of the episode, I think it may have something to do with Dougal who was shop owner? Pub Landlord?

They did change the name. Starting from August 5, 1994, the series' name was changed to just High Road.
