  • The Tony Ferino Phenomenon....

Anyone remember Steve Coogan's 'tv special' first shown on BBC back in 1997? It didn't hit the big time as some of his other characters and I remember he even came on chat shows in character as Tony Ferrrino to plug him...

I've seen it once or twice on Gold and still find it funny...shame it didn't pick up where Alan Partridge or Paul and Pauline Calf left things at the time...I just liked his smarmy, egotistical, sexist crooner character as he really knew how to act like a fool...lol.

If you ever get the chance, try and watch it for a laugh...

remember thinking Tony Ferino was fairly good, better than the critics made him out be.

Yes, she had a familiar face, remember seeing her in other stuff but can't recall what...

There was actually two Tony Ferrino specials.
The other one was called 'Introducing Tony Ferrino : Who & Why ? A Quest'.
            I personally preferred it.

I think the Phenomenon came first with Introducing a few weeks later.
                They were both 1997.
