we may have had less choice in our day but they where better programmes.

yes the dogtanian theme i did not like either.

it was because of shaggy and scooby i did not like the show, they where scared all the time and did nothing to help the others solve mysteries.

I think it was due to bad american cartoons as a kid that other cartoons from japan like Marine boy,kum kum the stone age boy,and battle of the planets just seemed so exciting fresh and new.Even old walt disney cartoons had become stale by the 70's and as a modern 70's kid we always wanted the best and newest thing on telly.We were pretty much like modern kids wanting the next best thing,but unlike kids today we had less choice of what to watch.

I do hate a LOT of these modern kids cartoons - they are awful. This 'Transformers: PRIME' - the moment in the opening credits you see the bratty kids I switch over...Ben 10 ALIEN FORCE is another....but my all time hatred retrowise is still for MYSTERIOUS CITIES OF GOLD - what a waste of time - he finally comes across his Dad, he doesn't reveal that to 'Estaban', neither is the mystery of why his Dads normally caucasian Spaniard skin having become reddened like the Amerindians is revealled so it was all a con...and Zia, smelly Zia, MARINCHE! The equally smelly Amerindian villainess....oh the pain, the pain William.....

There are some good cartoons out now. The Regular Show and Adventure Time are both excellent. Saying that, there is a lot of junk.

Getting back on topic I hated watching He Man and She ra type cartoons when I was little. I wasn't over fond of Road Runner either.

My Mum hated the Road Runner, Tweety Pie and Jerry from Tom & Jerry - I think she favoured the underdog...

I also hated the wacky races although I liked the Penelope Pitstop cartoons. Oblivious to the nuances of a deep south USA accent I could never understand why she always cried 'hayelp' for help. That was annoying!

I remember there used to be Jumanji on CITV and it uset to terrify me something rotten. I remember the first ever episode scared me for some reason and I was never able to watch it again. Used to be on at about half 4/ 5 o'clockish if memory serves, right after my tea. My brother loved it though so I had to go and do something else like confuse the cat with one of my toys (Slightly off-topic but I cannot remember what it was called. Hard plastic ball with rubbery things on the shape and size of a marshmallow. It vibrated too and that cat liked to attack it )

I hated all the fillers on WB cartoons. I always wanted to see Roadrunner but had to sit through loads of really rubbish and pointless side characters like Foghorn Leghorn and that damn farmer guy who always tried to catch Buggs Bunny.

A lot of the Nickelodeon cartoons of the 90s were also pretty bad like Ren & Stimpy and Catdog.

I also remember a really irritating one on Cartoon Network that despite being rubbish I couldn't help but watch - Two Stupid Dogs!
Strangely I have a vivid memory of a random side character that was a big burley man who would try to get them to do things. He'd kind of be their 'boss' in random situations like they would become actors on a film set or something. When they did something stupid he'd shout "Now ain't they cute.. BUT ITS WRONNGG!"

Odd the vivid details you remember but never the actual point of the story .
