70's tv series (uk) about people held hostage in a hotel

Hi forum,

Seem to be keeping out of the sun today with posts about tv programmes I vaguely remember from my childhood.

This one has been with me for years and I only rememer a few seconds of the programme but it's stuck with me for 30+ years so thought I'd give it a go.

All I remember is a scene at a small hotel or some sort of location which has a reception area and desk. The lights and phones are out and the villans are inside talking with the people in reception. The police are outside and about to enter. Think it was a series and definitely UK based. It was during the 70' and I would guess between '75 and '78 but may be wrong.

Sorry it's not much to go on but I thought I'd give the forum a shot

Thanks Heather. Sounds promising and only from a few things I could remember I will keep digging to see if I can find out more.
