    Re: CHiPs

Chips has not had a retrospective revival like many other 1970s cop shows, the last time I saw it on TV was in France in 1993, with some amusing dubbing.

I can last remember it on TV here around 1984-5.

I suppose, I'm surprised it hasn't turned up on ITV3 or 4 yet.

I can remember Eric Estrada holding onto her arm on the ground as the power of the alien was trying to drag her away into the night...! Perhaps that was the point the show jumped the proverbial shark....

Didn't the Dukes Of Hazzard also have an episode like this, it rings a bell of sorts?

Dunno, but after a Google I found out I was right, the episode was called 'The Space Man Made Me Do It', first shown in 1982 in the USA so it must have been on UK TV in 83 or 84 when I saw it, the ending was ambiguous, Bobby thinks its a helicopter, Ponch said it was 'whatever you want it to be'...oooooh!!! ALL the bits I remember were correct! What a memory!

                  Re: CHiPs

CHiPs was a great show. I've fairly recently bought the first two series on DVD (the only ones available at the moment) and I could watch the shows over and over again, especially for the traffic scenes on the freeways - so many (now) classic cars - Mustangs, Camaros, Pontiac Trans Ams, Chevy Novas, Dodge Monacos, and quite a lot of European and Japanese tin as well.

Incidently, there was a similar Alien/helicopter/bank raid/abduction-style plot to the one mentioned earlier in one of the episodes of 'The Fall Guy' from the second series.
