  • Bergerac

Begerac ran from 18th of october 1981 until 26 of december 1991.

it starred john nettles as jim bergerac.
    it also starred louise jameson
    terence alexander
    sean arnold.

    it was set in jersey.

there where 87 episodes in all.

    season one intro credits.

it was originally shown on bbc 1.

The series played heavily on its Jersey location, and its supposed 'Frenchness' even in its theme tune. The early storylines were usually in and around Jersey, with short scenes shot in England and France. In later episodes however, the action strayed further and further away from Jersey, and was increasingly based in France — introduced in part through a French girlfriend.

Another show that my Mum really liked.

Supposedly it replaced Shoestring because Trevor Eve was worried about being typecast & didn't return for a 3rd series.

                  Re: Bergerac

I've got the first two series of 'Bergerac' on DVD. I used to enjoy it at the time, and it's great to watch again occasionally. The theme tune was by George Fenton.

I once saw the maroon Triumph Roadster used by Jim Bergerac on the back of a low loader in a service station on the A1 - along with the Only Fools & Horses Reliant Regal van - this would have been around 1989. They were on their way to the Cars Of the Stars museum in Keswick, although I believe this has now closed.
