Name of TV drama about a boy called Sunshine Brown

I'm trying to remember the name of a drama on TV around 1996-7 about a boy called Sunshine Brown.

I remember the plot had him being looked after by his grandparents, before living with his Mum in London.

It was set in the 1970s - early 1980s.
