Trying to find he name of a TV (mini) series

Hi guys, I'm new here!

I was wondering if anyone can figure out what this series was.

Late 70's early 80's mini series.

I'm pretty sure it's a UK show, but not 100%

Dystopian future.

War time, of set during / before a revolution.

I think a university features in it.

My most clear memory is at the end of the final episode the characters were very excited to find the "yeti", which was a large hairy figure that had been put in storage (presumed to be lost).

I know it's not much to go on, but the yeti part might ring a few bells.

Haha, well as interesting it is to watch shows like this, sadly there are people living through it all the time.

Other things that may or may not help:

It's not An Englishman's Castle, although has a similar "feel".

It's not A Very Perculiar Practice, although could be set around a universtity.

I think it might have had a bit of T&A.

No although Noah's Castle is going on the list of shows to watch.

I wish I remembered more about the show, it'd be around 1980-1982 when I saw it. So I was about 10.

It had that bleak feel of survivors and An Englishman's Castle.

I think the last episode was the end of an oppressive regime or maybe the end of war, and revolved around a university or a group of academics.

I do apologise. Tbh all I remember of Noah's Castle is a guy with a beard who was carrying a baseball bat and stood next to a lorry. I just did some research trying to help retrogameguy and it was the nearest I could find
