  • Remeber this 90s TV drama that started out as generic then went mental?

I have been banging my head against a wall trying to source or remember this one for some time now. Here's everything I remember about it.

It was a 90s TV series, on either CITV or CBBC.

It started out set in a sort of adventure holiday park- dirt biking, ropeslides etc. There were older kids who were always flirting, younger kids who were always getting in their way and causing mischief, a stern female camp manager, and a nerdy camp counsellor who could easily have been played by Paula Wilcox- but wasn't (I think).

In one episode the Paula Wilcox-esque character and the younger girl catch two of the older kids kissing and sing "Oooooh! L-O-V-E, lubby-dubby kissy-huggy!" in singsong mockery.

In one episode a man lands a hot air balloon in the park, and one of the younger girls is telling the camp manager about it and is cut off with "I don't give a monkeys what the balloon man says!"

There's also a crazy hermit living in the woods (sort of a shorter, chubbier Gandalf with a voice like the BFG) who the younger kids eventually start to talk to.

It turns out there's a witch who's trying to destroy the world, and the crazy hermit is trying to stop her.

At one point she is chasing the wizard and the kids through a seaside resort (I think Brighton) and freezes time to make it easier to find them. While time is frozen she turns a snooker player around so that when time is unfrozen he jams his pool cue at somebody else's butt, quipping to her dog (who I am pretty sure used to be a human sidekick who she is punishing) as she does it that "well, I am the evil one"

The kids and the wizard are hiding in a bandstand pretending to be frozen, and when she finds them and starts time again they start to play the instruments, badly of course.

Near the end the kids think they've saved the world and jump up and down shouting "we saved the world! we saved the world!" but it turns out the evil witch won. The world is still there, but all the people have gone except the witch, hermit, and the kids. They take advantage of this by eating free stuff and going to arcades without queues etc, but ultimately the kids miss their parents and get sad.

I forget how it ends, unfortunately.

That's all I remember.. good luck and thanks in advance..

Heather thank you for your help, I never replied because I was still lost.. BUT!

I have found the show! It was called "Mud" and starred a very young Russell Tovey and Russell Brand!

      http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0482643/

Now to try and find copies of it...
