Some of it was actually funny. Some of it was quite bad, but it was nowhere near as terrible as I was expecting it to be.

I watched it and twas pretty dire although the idea of passing the Anchovy paste off as Viagra was a good idea and Johnny Vegas did his best with it but overall I don't think it was a good idea resurrecting this show as it was of its time and it was Ronnie Barker who made it the comedic gem that it was and his manipulation of Granville made for a genuinely funny double-act. A miserable attempt at nostalgia.

Wasn't quite as bad as I'd expected.
No major laughs but gentle humour all the way through
Could possibly work as a proper series if given time (can't be any worse than the current sweary garbage polluting the airwaves)

My only gripe was too many "stars" making cameos in a half hour show

Just watched it on catch up and I agree it was ok for what it was. Don't think it would work for a series though.

It was nice as a 1 off, but making it into a full series might not work.

kids today just might not get the humour of t.

might be better for those who saw it originally.

Tend to agree about the Labrador. I so wanted this to be great. There was very little else on and we needed some quality. It didn't really hit the mark though. Nice to see Lynda Barron and Stephanie Beacham still kicking. Brigit Forsyth still has it. I think it needs to be left though. Perhaps in a few years, the BBC might do a proper dvd box with some decent extras. "Still Open" would be one of the extras.
