    Countdown !! ( The TV Programme )

    It may seem like a stupid question but what is the second half of the Countdown clock for? ( i.e. the 6 to 12 part )

    Good point Cooldeepblue - Maybe they had plans to give contestants a minute but changed their minds

    Do you really believe the other side without provocation would launch so many ICBM's, subs and ships knowing that we would have no option to launch as well? It would break our MAD Treaty (Mutually Assured Destruction) not to mention the end of the world as we know it.

        it seems the minute is only for the conondrum at the end
        i never thought of this till it was brought up.

          I've also wondered why they had a clock for a minute but only used the first 30 seconds.

              really i watched it a lot and i was sure it lasted a minute.

              well i guess its there just cause a clock face would look strange if it just had half the face.

                  I was on an old forum once and one member appeared on Countdown in 1997. I asked him about the clock and he replied "Don't know, I had my eyes on Carol. LOL"

                    I liked it with richard whiteley thought him and carol where a great combination.
                    They had a great chemistry always joking around.
