ACTORS IN DIFFERENT 70's SERIES

I have been watching a lot of the itv4 re-runs of Kojak, Streets of San Francisco, etc.... GREAT !

But saw an episode of the Sweeney a while ago and Arthur Daley (George Cole) was in it....is this the first of Terry and Arthur appearing in a series before they went on to do Minder together.

I have spotted loads of actors in different series - Huggy Bear (from Starsky and Hutch) was an 'informer' in Kojak last month -typecast ?

Any other examples include -
Leslie Nielson - was a 'good' alcoholic cop in Streets of SF last night

It seems the actors would do shows and later get there own show playing a similar character.
Always good to spot an earlier incarnation.

A lot of old TV has interesting casting of people before they had a big break.

Lewis Collins & Martin Shaw both turn up in an episode of The New Avengers.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy & Smiley's People have a few interesting supporting parts.

I saw Simon Callow in an ep of The Sweeney recently, also Blue Peter's Tina Heath and him from Brush Strokes!

George & Mildred Yootha Joyce & Brian Murphy before then they were the landlord of Man about the house.With Richard Osullivan,Paula Wilcox & Sally Thompsett,Richard OSullivan was also in one of The Doctor series Doctor in the house or at large etc..He was also in Robins Nest wasnt he?

Barry Evans in Doctor at Large was also in Mind your Language

Some Mothers Do Am Em has a few good spots, such as Elisabeth Sladen as a greengrocer, not long before being cast as Sarah Jane in Dr Who.

Just watched Kojak....and this time it had The Hulk guy - Bill Bixby as a criminal
A few weeks ago he had Ponch from ChiPs as a 'street kid'........it's like a merry go round !
