Any ideas? I'm 95% sure it was Doctor Who, and I think it was at the end of an episode when this happened. A character - it might have been a baddy, I'm not too sure - became 'set' in a stone wall or some other type of solid wall-type structure. He appeared to still be alive: his face was showing expressions and his eyes were moving, but he was seemingly stuck forever as part of this wall...

There was a 1984 Peter Davison Doctor Who titled 'The Awakening' with a large stone face behind a wall, and I think people were turned to stone but still alive.

I'll bet that's the one; I'd forgotten that stone slab/sarcophagus part.
